Fleet Maintenance Manager

We are currently looking for an experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to join our Thatcham site.

You will be responsible for the effective running of the depot maintenance function, resulting in timely and cost effective maintenance of vehicles and the site. You will be managing a team and will be dedicated to ensuring the workforce is engaged, well managed and performing to the highest standards.

Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum depending on experience

Working pattern: Monday - Friday (Flexible times)

As a Maintenance Manager at Gist

You will run the site and fleet maintenance department to meet all safety, legal and operational requirements and standards. Additionally, you will lead and participate in the Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU) improvements agenda. You will manage contractors, ensuring they are working within our permit to work system. You will have responsibility for managing your team, ensuring they are supported and developed to meet clear performance targets.

About You

• NVQ Level 2/3 in vehicle maintenance and repair
• Qualified engineer, with electrical/mechanical experience
• Experience in a similar role, ideally within a logistics environment
• An innovative approach to problem solving – implementing new ways to improve performance
• Experience of managing a team
• Sound knowledge of budget management and forecasting costs
• Previous project management experience i.e. improvements/cost savings/new equipment installations
• Positive approach to Health, Safety & Wellbeing initiatives
• Previous experience with Trade Unions would be desirable
