Job Description
A key role in our Global Marketing business, the Senior Marketing Events Manager supports the planning and coordination of events across all regions, co-developing and implementing strategic and multi-faceted event programs designed to deepen client engagement and meet Global business objectives.
Reporting to the Head of Events based in London and working closely with our regional Marketing Mangers and Business Leads, the successful post holder leads virtual and in-person activations.
The Events function is a Centre of Excellence (CoE), along with the Brand and Content teams. Part of a team of 3, the role is to understand our global Events activity, and provide best practice solutions and ideas – sometimes light touch, and sometimes end-to-end.
Key Duties
Support the delivery of our virtual program of events, on a tactical level; and to deliver key GfK proprietary and third-party events as part of larger campaigns.
In support of GfK’s client engagement and retention initiatives, to ensure that events are planned and delivered in an effective and cost-efficient manner, ensuring that clients are engaged, and understand how the reliability of our data and insights products provides real-time actionable recommendations.
Fundamental to this role
  • Work with the Content CoE to form tactical and longer-term events narratives
  • Brief and manage senior stakeholders
  • Identify external sponsorship opportunities to position our brand & solutions
  • Possess experience and proficiency in delivering best in class virtual and in-person events
  • Project manage global complex activations.
  • Experience of KPI dashboard reporting
  • Co-manage the virtual calendar
The person
  • An experienced events professional, a team player, able and willing to go the extra mile, whilst managing expectations and personal workload.
Requirements
  • Experience of successfully managing financial targets and budgets.
  • Experience of engaging with and managing multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of time management and task prioritization to meet inflexible deadlines.
  • Demonstrate effective organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail across all tasks and projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide range of people, in writing and face to face, both internally and externally.
  • Extensive experience of working in a marketing/events office environment or related service.
  • Experience of end-to-end conference production.
  • Ability to obtain, analyze and present information effectively, both in written and oral formats.
  • Ability to use a variety of computer software packages (including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook).
  • Knowledge and experience of ON24 as a virtual events platform, or similar
