Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for producing and updating methods of work and risk assessments and undertaking audits and location checks in accordance with our schedules.- Ensuring the yard and working environment is maintained in a safe and orderly state and reinforce safety procedures to staff.
- You must ensure any safety issues are dealt with swiftly and efficiently in accordance with railway regulations.
- Schedule the delivery of the jobs to customers in accordance with the Long Term Planning and Short Term planning teams to produce an optimal roster for traincrew taking cognisance of budgets and performance, including late notice cancellations or absence.
- Ensure shifts are fully manned and communicated to staff in a timely fashion, ensuring contingency plans are put in place in case of last minute changes to the roster.
- Review and maintain systems to monitor any wagon damaged caused by loading /unloading
- Ensure all equipment within the location(s) is maintained to minimum standards to enable reliable and continuous operation
Qualifications:
Essential Criteria
- Line / Supervisory management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in an operational role
- A full UK driving licence
Desirable Skills
- ILM or other supervisory training programme
- Formal assessor and verifier qualification (A1/L12, V1 Verifier or D132/33)
- Proven management and leadership skills
- Incident investigation experience
- Disciplinary and investigation handling.
- Class 66 knowledge and relevant route and traction knowledge.
- Train Operations Liaison Officer (TOLO)
