CAD Senior Engineer -x 2

Location, Scotland Flexible

An opportunity has arisen for two Cad Senior Engineers to join the team at Galliford Try.

What you will be doing:

As CAD Senior Engineer you will be responsible for all activities associated with the production of CAD Design in compliance with the Business Management Systems (BMS) and CDM regulations, assisting with the wider general Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (PMEICA) and Civils design production activities, providing technical support to the supply chain procurement activities and supporting site activities as required. You will also assist with the management of Consultants and Sub-contractors design production.

You will also provide technical support and mentoring duties while managing own projects across multiple frameworks.

• Model creation and management.
• Co-ordinated delivery of all model information.
• Carry out “check workflow” for other Engineering CAD/ BIM Engineer.
• Ensure pre-coordinated models are received from all task teams at the required intervals.
• Perform whole-project clash resolution checks and reporting.
• Chair of Clash resolution meetings.
• Reporting of findings and clash resolution allocation.
• Ensure correct Level of Detail/Development (LOD) is attained.
• Ensure the correct Level of Information (LOI) is present.
• Audit, purge, and quality check all models issued prior to uploading to the CDE.
• Enable the use of best standards and/or template designs.
• Standardise designs across multiple frameworks.
• Ensure models are disconnected from central models where applicable.

About You:

• Assist in the preparation of technical specifications.
• Understanding the impact of design in Access Lifting and Maintenance (ALM).
• Access steelwork and pipe support knowledge.
• Surveying duties including …..
• Assist in in asset layout during project lifecycle.
• Supply chain engagement for engineering solutions
• Able to read P&ID’s and apply to coordinated models.
• Knowledge of pipe fittings and materials
• Understanding fabrication processes
• Consideration of constructability
• Installation technics
• Undertake Risk Assessments to aid with design.
• Assist the engineering team with Technical Queries (TQ) assessments.
