At EY, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, support, inclusive culture and technology to become the best version of you. And we’re counting on your unique voice and perspective to help EY become even better, too. Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.

The Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) function has an important role to play in helping to achieve EY’s ambition to create long-term value as the world’s most trusted, distinctive professional services organization. We work hand in hand with the business to take services and solutions to market; bring our purpose, building a better working world, to life for our people, clients and communities; engage our people and build a high performing culture; and to build the commercial value and emotional resonance of the EY brand.

Through the collective power of BMC, and the other teams and specialists we work with, we aim to build a better working world by driving commercial value through distinctive marketing and communications that deliver measurable market impact.

The opportunity

A better working world is one where everyone can share in and contribute to economic growth. EY is on a multi-year journey to transform the positive impact we have on society and build a better working world. We have a bold ambition: to positively affect a billion lives by 2030. We′ll achieve this by driving more sustainable inclusive growth — growth that creates opportunity for everyone and distributes the benefits of increased prosperity fairly across society.

The Global Sustainability team, led by Global Vice Chair, Steve Varley, has the objective of creating a distinct and leading brand in the market. We want to be recognised globally as the leader in sustainability by:

  • Helping businesses create value from sustainability and position sustainability as a key business and strategic opportunity
  • Helping EY client leaders build deeper clients relationships through peer-to peer-dialogues on sustainability, with a goal of driving growth
  • Building capabilities to mobilize EY to meet growing demand for sustainability services and achieve EY’s sustainability ambitions
  • Convening, encouraging and empowering EY people to make sustainable choices and to actively support EY’s sustainability ambitions

We’re looking for an Assistant Director to join the Global Sustainability team to contribute towards these goals, and be a part of the work that positions EY as a leading global sustainability brand and provider of sustainability services.

In this role, you will work closely with the Global Sustainability core team and others within EY to deliver on brand and go-to-market projects that deliver to our business ambition, be that thought leadership development and activation, paid media campaigns, management of EY presence at major events, development of brand messaging and creative asset toolkits, creation of case studies etc. You will be adept at both brand and go-to-market activation. You will be strong at building trusted relationships within a network of BMC and Markets stakeholders, able to identify and realize connections, and bring people together to leverage the global strategy, positioning, areas of focus and toolkits.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage external campaigns, including paid media and content development, to position EY as a leading sustainability brand
  • Develop and embed EYs sustainability positioning across the organization to differentiate EY from competitors, by working with marketing teams and global leadership
  • Support the enablement of Regions to leverage and replicate global programs through developing and maintaining brand, marketing and communications toolkits
  • Work closely with the Global Sustainability External Comms Leader and Knowledge colleagues to develop flagship thought leadership, and lead activation across external and internal channels
  • Manage our external digital channels, including EY.com and video platforms, to present the best content from across EY and a compelling user experience and journey for our audience
  • Develop strong relationships with our agency partners to enable them to become brand guardians of our sustainability positioning, as well as EY stakeholders who are key to delivery
  • Identify and foster opportunities to collaborate, align, and replicate global activities with those of others within the BMC sustainability network, including Industry, Service Lines and Area
  • Input into the development of the annual brand, marketing and communications plan to support the Global Sustainability strategy
  • Prepare and support leadership communications on status and performance metrics
  • Oversee multiple processes key to executing programs, including EY’s independence, marketing and legal review processes, finance and procurement

Skills and attributes for success

  • We’re looking for a high energy individual who embraces change and innovation to ensure that we can deliver world-class marketing programs in a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong project management skills - ability to work under pressure on multiple projects or project elements, simultaneously and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communications, networking and stakeholder management skills to collaborate in a wide range of situations and with people at all levels within the organization, including global leadership
  • Ability to influence and challenge. Asserts own ideas and persuades others; engages with leaders effectively to gain sponsorship for activities and able to build consensus in a dynamic environment
  • Creative, with the ability to bring fresh thinking on how to do things
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest standards across all content and channels with minimal supervision and direction
  • A team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and a sense of partnership
  • A self-starter with a “can do” attitude and the drive to get the job done
  • Ability to work in an agile environment and be comfortable with complexity and a fast pace of change.
  • Ability to work effectively across geographic borders and time zones, managing complex global programs.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Extensive experience in brand, marketing, communications, publishing and channels
  • Experience managing complex global programs with proven and demonstrable results
  • Experience of managing creative agencies and media partners
  • Experience managing and working as part of diverse, virtual high-performing teams
  • Experience of content development and activation, including case study development
  • Proven ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including global leadership
  • Professional services experience preferred
