A company based in Rotherham are recruiting for a Cold End Foreman to join on their team on a permanent basis.
The company manufacture glass containers for the Pharmaceutical industry, we diversified into the Food & Beverage markets during the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Hours of work:
- 5 shift system – Rotating days, afters and nights.
Shift example:
- 7 days on / 2 off
- 7 afters / 2 off
- 7 nights / 10 off
Salary:
- £20.15 per hour
- £16.75 per hour – hourly rate
- Plus £3.25 per hour – supplement + 0.75% attendance allowance per hour
Responsibility:
- To lead the shift Group and promote a Team ethos
- To set an example and promote all company policies and procedures
- To administer all personnel performance appraisal, counselling and disciplinary procedures
- Provide focus on production performance and promote a can do attitude across the shift group
- Organise group labour according to production requirements, inc. suitable additional duties outside of break times
- Ensure Cold End production log is maintained detailing on a shift by shift basis for all production lines
- Provide labour requirement forecasts based on production plan changes, absence and holidays
- Arrange overtime cover to meet the labour requirement
- Ensure the Ganetime attendance recording system is maintained to reflect attendance, absence and holidays for own group and overtime for subsequent shifts
- Manage Housekeeping duties to meet GMP / BRC expectations
- Ensure job change line clean down duties are followed with production packing as soon as possible job changes
- Issue relevant paperwork to production lines according to job change times
- Provide support in the event of machinery failure or labour shortage
- Accept incoming telephone communications outside normal office hours
- Review production line performance at the start of the shift and identify priority
- Ensure shift changeovers are smooth with relevant information passed on
- To support all the responsibilities of the team
- To work on a three shift basis – across 5 shift group attendance
- Ensure a daily/shift ‘Held ware’ log is maintained
- Complete/be aware of Critical fault reporting instances and paperwork
- Provide a line of communication between management and shop floor
- Ensure suitable and sufficient packaging is available per shift, in particular outside normal office hours
- Conduct first instance Accident investigation/reporting duties
- Conduct shift group briefings/ individual local briefings
- Liaise with Hot End supervision regarding production
- Any other reasonable duties as requested within skill set
Requirements:
- Held a management position within a production environment
- Worked in a production/manufacturing factory environment
- Working to FMCG expectations preferred
- Motivated and professional with a desire to achieve results with a commercial and customer focus
- Experienced in mechanical fault finding and problem solving
- Experienced and can demonstrate commitment to the one best way of working through adherence to job cards and SOP’s
- Experience of Lean Manufacturing
- Experience of working within CI teams
- An accurate and succinct report writer
- Understanding of targets and OTIF
- A Management related qualification is preferred (IOSH/CMS/DMS)
- Willing to undertake suitable training
- To be PC literate
- Advance bottle fault knowledge
- Audit Process and Management
