We are recruiting a Team Leader to manage our newly established Career Entry team within the Thames Area. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and motivate people, help shape their learning, and improve how we do things so our business can achieve even greater outcomes.

As Team Leader, you will be responsible for the onboarding and integration of the new team members into the business. You will manage their learning and development, ensuring that they have the best opportunities to understand the business and ensure their work aligns with the competencies required through their programme.

Alongside this, you will help bring together our outreach work so summer internships and our career entry programmes are aligned.

You will be a highly visible leader; able to organise, inspire and motivate people in their development.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.

The ‘Career Entry’ team is a new team in Thames, which will comprise of staff who are participating in career entry schemes such as the new environment and science graduate scheme and apprenticeships.

The team is part of the Thames Executive Office, in the Environment Planning and Engagement department. The Executive-Office are responsible for all cross-area activities on behalf of the leadership team. This includes workforce planning and finance; assurance and risk management; and HSW.

This fixed term role will be based in our Thames Area. We operate a hybrid working model but given the nature of the team it will be important that there are some co-location days each week to enable the required level of support.

Some travel will be required to other offices and locations.
