THE GIG

Reporting to the regional Head of Operations, and critical the evolve the regional 5 year plan, the Imports Manager – EMEA optimises the inbound flow of goods from supplier to receiving DC for the EMEA region, assuring the safe, timely and cost effective delivery of all footwear and accessories from their respective source countries.

By effective management of the in-house Imports team and the chosen Freight Forwarder (FF), you will ensure collections and deliveries are fulfilled on time and at least cost, that full visibility of goods-in-transit is maintained and that all associated customs, legal and administrative obligations are met.

You will also actively support Global SC teams in projects such as onboarding new freight forwarders, freight spend tracking and any gap analysis.

Regular visits to UK DC and potentially travel to Netherlands DC.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract position.

As our Imports Manager – EMEA you will be responsible for:

  • In liaison with Import colleagues in other regions, selecting and managing the FF responsible for the importation of goods from their respective origins
  • Leading the inbound logistic team to deliver the regional brand and commercial growth plan as well as the global supply chain objectives
  • Establishing and managing relevant Operational and Administrative budgets in conjunction with the Supply Chain Finance team
  • Improvement projects

To be our Imports Manager – EMEA, you will have a strong understanding of, and passion for, our products and a professional and flexible approach to work including travel to and work from different locations as required.

Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Strong experience in a similar role, importing products from overseas
  • Proven track record of managing transportation and logistics contracts (from design to ongoing management) coupled with experience of successfully negotiating with carriers and 3PL providers
  • Previous budget responsibility and adherence to cost targets
  • Great relationship management that delivers results through effective teamwork
  • You’ll be a proud custodian of our DM’s culture, embodying what we stand for and encouraging others to do the same
  • You’ll help build a highly engaged team – ensuring a collaborative culture and providing guidance & support to other team members
