Drivers Mate

Pay Rate: £25,463
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Working Monday to Friday, starting between 4am-8am (plus 4 Saturday across the year)
Location: Wakefield - WF3 1SP

DHL, an award winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Drivers Mate to play a vital role in our daily distribution requirements. To succeed in this role, you should be familiar with all Manual Handling Procedures, with a committed attitude to Continuous Improvement, ultimately ensuring that all order deliveries are handled safely and in a timely manner.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices plus a high level of customer service, you will:

• Undertake the manual handling, distribution and coordination of timely deliveries to a strict schedule and deadline.
• Ensure the loading and unloading of specified stock to an assigned vehicle is coordinated in a timely manner, whilst accompanying a driver within your designated geographical area.
• Multi Drop of alcohol and beverages to customer sites, between 4-20 drops per day.
• Unload the good at customer sites, role is very physical.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Previous practical experience as a Drivers Mate, within a logistics or similar environment preferred.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload.
• Must be happy with manual handling heavy items.
