Duties

• Solve real world problems using applied algorithmic research and Data Science practices

• Implement functionality which can be served in production for internal and external customers

• Design, build, and maintain datasets

• Perform data cleaning, feature engineering, feature extraction, modeling, and experimentation

• Conduct online and offline demonstrations of capabilities

• Build end-to-end machine learning pipelines

• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Product Management and other functions in the company to deliver algorithmic solutions

• Apply software engineering practices in code that implements research and infrastructure

• Produce high quality, clean, and maintainable reproducible research and code

Requirements

• High proficiency in Python and its data science stack

• 3+ years of background and experience in data/backend engineering, ideally in production environments (Mid/Senior Level role)

• 2+ years of background and hands-on experience in implementing research and algorithms in Python, specifically in information retrieval, text processing, NLP, and machine learning

• Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate well with people from different backgrounds and professions

• Bachelor's degree or higher

• You are a strong data/backend engineer and aspiring data scientist with some hands-on experience in the data-science field

• You have experience in collaborating with other scientists and engineers

• You have significant experience in NLP

• You have experience automating processes

• You are comfortable with building things from scratch

• You are comfortable with uncertainty and exploration

• You have a track record of delivering value.
