Custard is an ambitious integrated marketing consultancy specialising in the hospitality industry.

We specialise in growing businesses, from independent hotels to conference venues and from small suppliers to trade associations. We are the hospitality marketing experts. This is a very exciting time to join our team. Our 15 years of experience and strong reputation within hospitality means we are in the enviable position to take on a bigger team and expand our portfolio worldwide. We are looking for a marketing champion with a passion for hospitality.

What we will do for you...

  • This is a real chance to carve out your own role. If you have ambitions beyond the job title or description, don't worry - we will embrace them and support you in reaching your goals.
  • We'll give you space and freedom to balance your interests outside of work. No working in the office Mon-Fri, you'll have a few days to WFH and can join us in our Woking or London base.
  • We will help expand your horizons with regular development chats and plans or we'll just sit and listen to what bugs you, what you want to do with your life and why marketing can be frustrating sometimes.
  • In-house training that really challenges traditional marketing and PR. From our meaty Custard Probe The Lobe sessions to talk about big issues and trends beyond hospitality to weekly news sessions discussing what's hot and the impact on our industry.
  • Transparency about our business and our goals every step of the way. You'll learn so much about running a business you'll be able to do it yourself and we'll even help you do that too!
  • Full day training sessions off-site learning everything from consumer behaviour insights through to crisis management. There's always a good spread for lunch too and a great excuse to enjoy a few drinks at the end of the day
  • Invitations to amazing industry events, from conferences and exhibitions to race days and garden parties, you'll love how much we support you getting out into industry and helping you to build your own network
  • For those keen to release their inner creativity then we love a craft workshop, from pottery painting to glass making, there is always something up the CEOs sleeve to get us out of the office and do something completely different
  • Forget working your birthday, you'll get those off, plus Easter is full of treats and surprises and you can't even imagine what Christmas ends up being like. Any excuse to celebrate and eat chocolate or toast with a glass of something.
  • We regularly invest in tools, processes and systems to help you do your job, so no need to slog away if there is a quicker or easier solution out there - we'll find it together and fund it.
  • Lots of regular feedback on work that's done well, always a team effort and always a spirited recognition for successes.
  • You'll enjoy being part of a company that has an excellent reputation in the industry and companies who are keen to open their doors to chat with Custard. We work with who we love and love who we work with.

Plus of course the usual...

  • Benchmarked salary
  • Christmas closure
  • Plenty of holiday entitlement
  • Pension, of course
  • Training budget
  • All the kit to do your job

We are always reviewing what else we can do, so regularly ask for input on what else we can provide to the team.

What we ask of you.

  • Passion for marketing and/or hospitality
  • Interest in challenging yourself and others
  • Team player - you love to work in collaboration with others and respect the knowledge of others
  • At least a one year commitment to our business
  • The drive to always do better
  • A willingness to learn
  • A good communicator, whether it's social media, images, writing or speaking
  • Organised. You will need to be able to juggle and prioritise daily

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owning formalised client planning, monitoring and reporting both exposure and end-result bookings/revenue
  • Day-to-day development and execution of marketing, content and PR plans
  • Helping to achieve monthly business and revenue targets while supporting optimising team resource efficiencies
  • Attending meetings and events with clients on a frequent basis
  • Maintaining an excellent knowledge of the media and build relationships with key press and influencers
  • Compiling contact reports and updating clients regularly by phone, in person and by email when required.
  • Maintaining knowledge of trends and news in the hospitality, tourism and leisure industries on a regular basis and provide information to the team during meetings.
