We are working towards a complete transformation of services in Cornwall in line with national plans to create integrated and collaborative health and social care systems. Our mission is to provide a safe and empowering environment steeped in a caring, culture of acceptance, curiosity, and empathy. We are looking for someone to work with us to assist the development of the eating disorders service.

We are building a team of highly motivated people who are keen to influence change and culture within our adult eating disorders service in Cornwall. This post will offer you the opportunity to join us in its development and expansion. We are an organisation who will recognise & value your clinical expertise, training, and experience, with a genuine commitment to your career development and continued learning.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Family/Systemic Therapist to join a thriving team of therapists and psychologists within a multi-disciplinary Adult Eating Disorders Service. This is a newly created post which will enable you to use your clinical skills and develop your ideas to shape our compassionate service. We provide a county wide service from an office base in Truro.

Clinical/professional development is accorded high priority and the post combines clinical work with the possibility of research and teaching. We take pride in our contribution to the development of the evidence base for eating disorders.

The team have presented a wide range of workshops at the international conference over many years and have published a number of articles.

To provide a professionally autonomous, high quality, evidence-based systemic assessment and psychotherapy service to adults, carers and their families within the Adult Eating Disorders service.

To provide highly specialist systemic advice and consultation regarding formulations and treatment to NHS colleagues and external agencies.

To take some responsibility for supervision of trainees, particularly systemic therapists up to Masters’ qualifying level.

To contribute to the CPD training and development of other Cornwall Partnership Trust professionals as agreed with the Service Lead.

To develop, implement and audit services for adults and their families and to initiate and participate in future service developments.

We are passionate about involving service receivers in our recruitment process.

We would like to attract candidates that demonstrate:
  • passion and enthusiasm for working with adults with eating disorders
  • a sense of humour and a warm personality
the ability to make clients feel comfortable, and a willingness to help, to be respectful, accepting and non-judgemental.

We’re an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people’s physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

We are a people organisation and people matter to us. As part of the team, you'll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.

Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.

We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.

Approximately 568,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
