Team Overview


An opportunity has become available working as a Project & Delivery Manager in London/South East England on one of Computacenter’s customer contracts, working within Delivery Leadership UK, and as part of the Group Delivery Division. This role is seen by both Computacenter and BT/DWP as a critical role to enable success for the long term, and covers the London, South Cost and Suffolk areas.


What you'll be doing


At a high level, the main responsibilities of a Project & Delivery Manager include:

  • Performing on site surveys at customer sites across the UK.
  • Raising and issuing costed customer Service Proposals, managing cost effectively.
  • Managing end to end Implementation activities including management of third parties, (suppliers & customers).
  • Coordinating 3rd party Cabling Contractors, ensuring design/installation of structured cabling meets DWP requirements and standards.
  • Processing and update DWP Place system as appropriate, (local work instructions held internally).
  • Raising Change Requests and attend CAB discussion calls for any network activities.
  • Raising Site Access Requests for any engineers/3rd party contractor requiring access to DWP sites.
  • Providing a focused interface for determining design requirements.
  • Producing fully priced integrated IT design solutions for all complex & non-complex work requests.
  • Creating/updating site LAN Design templates when changes to LAN/WAN infrastructure are planned/implemented.
  • Performing additional non-BAU/Project engineering activities, (i.e. installation and commissioning of SCCM/SD-WAN/NAS/Meraki Wifi.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance of MI, allowing Computacenter to track and report on volumetrics.

Additionally, Project & Delivery Managers should be able to perform the following activities, on an ad-hoc basis, where engineering resource failures put implementations at risk. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Any form of data network patching (desk and Equipment Room).
  • Installation/decommission, patching and/or configuration of WAN/LAN/Meraki Wi-Fi network equipment.
  • Installation/decommission and configuration of Servers, (SCCM/LoAp).

What you'll bring


  • An understanding of the other DWP Service Partner responsibilities and the ability to advise the customer on request process flow to ensure timely delivery of requests.
  • An understanding of Infrastructure Cabling, WAN, LAN, SD-WAN/NAS, Wi-Fi, IPT and analogue technologies and how they interconnect with each other.
  • An understanding of DWP Technical Standards and how to deliver services that comply.
  • Customer relationship skills and be able to demonstrate knowledge on the requests provided.
  • Ability to attend any DWP site within the UK and have a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Ability to coordinate and plan activities & resource requirements to ensure project outcomes/deadlines are adhered to.
  • An understanding of the various types of Service Request (SR) & Non-Standard Service Request (NSSR) and be able to produce accurate responses to the customer.
  • Team player mentality and willing to travel when needed
  • Must - SC Clearance now or willing to secure SC Clearance
