Cyber Security Engineer

Commercial Services Group is recruiting for a Cyber Security Engineer on behalf of Cantium Business Solutions, which is part of Commercial Services Group.

The Role
We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our Cyber Security Operations Department. The successful candidate will have expertise in Cyber Response, Monitoring and Responding to Incidents relating to Cyber Security. Cantium are enthusiastic about security and technology. This is a hybrid role where the candidate will working from our Kent based office 1 day per week.

Due to the nature of work being carried out we also operate an On-Call Rota (approx.1 in every 8 weeks)

Key Duties

• Act on security alerts, incidents, requests, and events to ensure that threats, vulnerabilities, and breaches are managed to minimise impact to confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems and data.
• Prioritise and diagnose security incidents according to agreed procedures.
• Investigate the causes of incidents, document findings and seek resolution.
• Facilitate recovery, following the resolution of incidents.
• Document and close resolved security incidents according to agreed procedures.
• Serves in the on-call rotation as a backup for cyber security operations emergency response.

What we need from you

• 2 -5 years of Cyber Security Experience in SOC or Equivalent or working in an information security role, technical infrastructure and/or software development teams.
• To understand cyberattacks, SIEM (Sentinel), Microsoft Security Suite, Global attack monitoring, malware, Ransomware, Brute force, DDOS, Compromise of Information, Data Breach, Data Loss Prevention, Insider Threat, Cybercrime, Vulnerability Exploitation, IPS\IDS and the behaviour of cybercriminals, and all activities to seek, anticipate and prevent these attacks.
• Adequate knowledge of Darktrace or similar threat prevention tools
• To be self motivated and organised with the ability to work with all levels of the organisation
• Knowledge of Threat Modelling
• Good understanding of IT Infrastructure (networking, security architecture, cloud technologies…)
• Understanding and demonstrative interest in data protection information security and record keeping legislation in a complex environment
• Experience with Security Documentation reviewing
