Front of House Assistant

Cley Hall Hotel is a four star Georgian era hotel in the town of Spalding. With 24 guest rooms, a bar, and busy function room we offer exceptional service in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. We serve breakfast on a daily basis and also offer meeting and function facilities.

We are seeking a Front of House member to join our busy hotel. Due to the nature of the business we are accepting Over 18 year old's ONLY.

You must be hard working, well presented, be forward thinking, have excellent time keeping and a can do attitude. Duties include Reception, bar work and assisting with functions.

You will be required to be flexible in your working hours as these will include evening and weekend shifts on a rotary basis.

Schedule:

• Evening shifts.
• Weekend Hours.
• Flexibility of hours required due to nature of business.

Experience:

• Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
• Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

Main Duties:

· Operate the hotel reception to the agreed hotel standards.

· To maintain the reception, public areas, stores, back office and staff areas in a clean and tidy condition.

· Responsible for maintaining a comfortable atmosphere in the public areas by controlling and monitoring heating, lighting, music/TV.

· Reply to any guest queries/ reviews/complaints in a polite and friendly manner ensuring guest satisfaction.

· To ensure that handover procedures are followed by reading/writing the handover log daily and ensuring appropriate actions are taken to resolve any outstanding issues

· To ensure any daily maintenance checks are carried out in all bedrooms and public areas, relaying any issues to persons responsible.

· To ensure that all monies are kept in a safe and secure area adopting the hotels cash handling procedures.

· To balance all financials at the end of your shift.

· Operate the hotel bar by serving drinks, cleaning glasses, cleaning bar area etc

· Continuously seek to endeavour to improve the hotel’s efficient operation, and knowledge of own job function.

· Maintain the integrity of buildings by ensuring access points are free and fire doors are closed

· Take appropriate action in the event of an emergency and provide the necessary liaison with the Hotel and/or Emergency Services.

· To provide an efficient and friendly service to guests at all times.

· To portray a positive and can do attitude at all times to both customers and colleagues alike.

· Accept flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests.

· To encompass the values of the Cley Hall Hotel in all dealings with guests and colleagues.

· To wear presentable and appropriate clothing.

· To ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming.

· To have a full understanding of the hotels’ fire procedures to ensure safety of all staff and guests at all times.

· To comply with the company policies regarding the following:

o Fire

o Health & Safety

o Food Hygiene

o Security
