Founded in 1894, City, University of London is a global university committed to academic excellence with a focus on business and the professions and an enviable central London location.

City attracts around 20,000 students (over 40% postgraduate level) from more than 150 countries and staff from over 75 countries.

In the last decade, City has almost tripled the proportion of its total academic staff producing world-leading or internationally excellent research. During this period, City has made significant investments in its academic staff, its estate and its infrastructure and continues to work towards realizing its vision of being a leading global university.

Background

Student Records, part of Registry Services, sits centrally as part of Academic Services and manages registration, academic progression, awards, transfers/withdrawals, graduation, Student Loans Company (SLC) reporting, validated institution records, Transport for London (TfL), and external reference requests.

You will join a team of six and have particular responsibility for supporting the Senior Student Records Officer in the preparation and delivery of City’s graduation ceremonies. These events will require liaison with staff across schools, other professional services and some external stakeholders, as well as being a key contact for students and graduates.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the role will include the preparation/delivery of graduation ceremonies; administering student enrolment and registration and maintaining the student records system (SITS). You will respond to requests for award verifications/references and assist with the production and distribution of certificates. You will be the first point of contact for enquiries and provide general clerical support within the Student Records team.

Person Specification

This is an exciting opportunity for an administrator with excellent IT skills (in particular, Outlook and Excel) and workload management, problem solving and communication skills. You will have experience of using SITS - the Student Records System (or similar databases) and the ability to learn and implement detailed and sometimes complex procedures. You will work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, be confident in dealing with large volumes of data, have a customer focused approach to your work, and be adept at working to tight deadlines/juggling a diverse workload.

Additional Information

City offers a sector-leading salary, pension scheme and benefits including a comprehensive package of staff training and development.

Closing date for applications: 26th April 2023 at 11:59 pm.

Interviews are scheduled for: Friday 12th May 2023.
