Join CDP as we are looking for a Regional Director Corporates and Supply Chains UK & WW - to cover a period of maternity leave, based in our London headquarters. With this role you will lead the regional UK&WW arm of the Corporates and Supply Chains (CSC) division at CDP. The division is dedicated to motivating and supporting global multinationals on their strategic journey to limiting climate change, improving water stewardship and reducing deforestation in their corporate impacts. As Regional Director Corporates and Supply Chains (CSC) UK & WW you will spend a year leading CDPs corporate UK&WW strategy, focusing on encouraging more corporates to disclose to CDP, improve their reporting, tackle impacts in their Supply Chain, and partner with CDP. Half of CDP’s income comes from corporate services so this position also plays a critical role in our ability to deliver our strategic priorities and mission.

You’ll be the kind of person who gets out from behind your desk to meet people, influence and achieve long lasting, mutually beneficial relationships. As with any expanding NGO working with corporates to take action on Nature, there are challenges – you’ll need to be determined, tenacious and focused on solutions.

You must also have strong leadership and management experience. The Director will be accountable for the effective operation of the UK & World wide Corporate Engagement, Corporate Partnerships, Reporter Services and Supply Chain teams (consisting of over 24 employees). This involves inspiring and developing the team to ensure on mission delivery and impact, while liaising with the Global CSC Leadership team.

Key responsibilities include:

Key responsibilities include overall responsibility for achieving CDP’s objectives in UK with corporations, which includes, but is not limited to, business development, increasing the number of companies engaging, working, and disclosing data through our platform.

Specifically:

• Management: Leading a division of over 24 FTE with direct reporting lines from 4 of CDPs programs. Corporate Relations, Reporter Services, Corporate Partnerships and Supply Chain (consisting of sales & business development team members);
• Revenue: Driving company engagement, to increase memberships, and outreach programs deploying CDP’s mission based aims. Alongside developing and leading the regional sales strategy with the goal of increasing CDP’s UK recurring income and engagement with companies and achieving a £7m+ budget.
• Relationship Building: Building, managing, and developing senior relationships with key stakeholders externally and internally within the region to enhance CDP’s reputation and brand;
• Directing & hosting CDP’s UK & WW events: There are many corporate facing events both online and in person. You’ll be responsible for directing 2 in the UK, 2 in the Middle East and 1 in S Africa. It is likely that you’ll be required to be present for at least 2/3rds of them depending on timing.
• Promotion & Advocacy: Participating in external conferences in the region to within the region to enhance CDP’s reputation and brand;
• Research: Directing regional analysis, often working with partners, to provide corporates evidence based research advocating for greater change and showcasing leadership from corporates who have achieved this
• Internal Leadership and Support: Ensuring successful cooperation across departments to deliver CDP vision and mission, as well as providing UK input to the wider development and strategy of CDP’s Global Engagement with corporate sector.

You will also join the CSC Global Leadership team. Here you will provide strong visionary and collaborative leadership with a hands-on, proactive approach to CDP’s programs and projects. You may be required to take on global projects or work as requested by the Global Director of Corporations and Supply Chains on ad hoc basis.

You will have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria:

• Over 3 years experience working with national and international corporates on the topic of sustainability, particularly the environment.
• Over 3 years experience of managerial expertise to head a major department; including prior experience of leading dynamic teams, budgetary / fiscal management, change management, and a proven record to develop and enable productive employees.
• Alignment with CDP’s key values of trust, well-being, collaboration and having a passion for solving the global environmental crisis through a business, solutions-oriented approach;
• Proven track record of externally representing an organisation at events both presenting but also participating in panels as a moderator and panellist
• Having a trusted network at top level of major UK companies, as well as knowledge and credibility in understanding business needs and challenge the status quo; as well as a familiarity of sustainable business trends and planning;
• Willingness to understand and participate in resolving-related company internal challenges;
• Ability to take initiative, multi-task, prioritize and work calmly under pressure;
• Willingness to travel Globally and across UK.

This is a full time fixed term role for 1 year based at CDP’s London office reporting to the global director of Corporations and Supply Chains

Salary and benefits: £61,000 - £70,000 per annum, 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and other benefits.
