The Network Engineering team is hiring for Network Engineering Manager .

The Network Engineering Manager at Cboe will have five main elements:

• Oversee successfully day-to-day operations of the Cboe Europe network
• Lead the Cboe Europe Network engineering team as their line manager
• Design, plan and implement network projects and new functionality
• Work closely with the global network team to drive global projects such as automation, configuration standardization and implementing a follow-the-sun support model.
• Work with other teams such as Systems Engineering and DevOps to delivery bigger multiple team projects

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

• Network operations, project design and implementation
• Team management, regular 1-2-1’s and performance reviews
• Work with other engineers and developers on delivering complicated projects
• Long term project planning, including budget and resource planning.
• Global collaboration, work with global counterparts to drive global harmonisation
• Subject matter expert for the Cboe Europe networks
• Be a part of setting a high standard for and continually evolve the Cboe Europe network.
• Drive automation to keep up with ever increasing demands on the network.

The ideal candidate has:

• CCIE or equivalent level of knowledge of networking with specific emphasis on routing and switching
• Complex network design and implementation focusing on predictability, resiliency and security.
• Strong understanding of the TCP/IP protocols and network troubleshooting
• Strong familiarity with the finance environment, low latency, market data and order entry protocols
• Team player, builds positive relationships at all levels locally and globally
• In-depth knowledge of BGP
• L2 and L3 multicast networks, PIM, IGMP, design, operation and troubleshooting
• Team lead experience
• Analytical problem solver, plans and priorities to work efficiently
• Self-starter, able to take on big projects, plan and manage time, delivery and expectations.
• Able to use ticketing systems consistently and follow defined standards
• Able to work out of hours to carry out changes

You’ll really stand out with:

• Network automation and scripting
• MPLS WAN routing and traffic engineering
• Understands good security practices
• Able to write Python code for automation
• Experience of working in datacenters and following best practices
• Able to communicate clearly, both written and verbally
