Castell Howell Foods is Wales’ leading independent food service wholesaler, servicing the length and breadth of Wales, the Border Counties and the South West of England. We currently have a vacancy for Days Warehouse Operative based at our Cross Hands depot.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The role for a Warehouse Operative is to maintain well stocked shelves, pick customer orders and maintain a clean, tidy and safe environment. Recycle our used materials in an appropriate manner. Duties include:
- Working as part of team to ensure picking bays are fully replenished adequately for picking the following night;
- Maintaining good stock rotation ensuring shortest dates are picked first;
- Picking orders in accordance with customer requirements;
- Ensuring all products are handled correctly to minimize damages;
- Maintaining excellent customer service when dealing with customers;
- Checking deliveries via a Bluetooth headset;
- Put away of deliveries ensuring new stock is either filled or stored correctly;
- Completing stock checks to guarantee correct stock levels;
- Reporting all stock discrepancies, date issues or other related concerns to management / team leader.
Who are we looking for:
- A team player who can also work independently when required
- Someone who demonstrates attention to detail
- No previous experience is required as full training will be provided
- You should consider yourself physically fit
- Have basic literacy and numeracy skills (a basic test is given at interview)
- Be prepared to work in a cold store at -20 (full protective equipment is provided)
What we offer:
- A full-time position, 43 hours a week. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 07:45-17:30. Saturday 08:00-17:00.
- £24,110.86 starting rate with the potential to increase after probationary period
- 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays. You will be expected to work some Bank Holidays if required.
