Sessional: Independent Assessor for Policing

Job description

For candidates interested in this role we kindly ask you apply directly to the email address provided under "how to apply".

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) Police Education Qualification Framework (PEQF) contracts team as a sessional Independent Assessor (IA).

Successful applicants will work in partnership to support the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeships (PCDA) End Point Assessment (EPA) of Police Apprentices across Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex Constabularies.

The role holder will operate collaboratively within a wider team of Police Education Consortium (PEC) IAs to deliver a high-quality and consistently delivered EPA provision.

CCCU is an equal opportunities employer. We would particularly welcome applications from women and from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community to help shape the future of policing education.

The Role

The role of the IA during the EPA is to conduct an impartial assessment of whether the Police Apprentices have developed the skills, knowledge, and behaviours (KSBs) outlined in the apprenticeship standard:
  • Conduct and assess the professional discussion following a review of the occupational competence portfolio (OCP) – EPA 1
  • Assess the professional policing practice project – EPA 2
  • Assess the professional policing practice presentation and conduct Q&A based on the Professional Policing Practice Project – EPA 2

The department has strong links with a wide range of community and voluntary agencies, as well as a number of police services and stakeholders both locally and further afield, including Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Kent and the Metropolitan Police, the Police Service of Northern Ireland, and the Police Service of The Netherlands.
