Course Administrator

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education in our Academic Administration team as a Course Administrator. Based at the Canterbury Campus with the option to work on a hybrid part on campus, part at home basis, we are seeking a friendly, positive and motivated individual to join our team.

As one of our Course Administrators your role is crucial to ensuring a positive learning experience for our students, working with our academic colleagues and other University Departments, to collaboratively contribute to an efficient and effective service.

As a team our Course Administrators support a number of critical course tasks including the effective administration of assessment processes including Module and Progression and Award Boards, student record processes including ensuring accurate student study records and operational course processes including timetabling and administering the student VLE (virtual learning environment). The role is varied and offers an opportunity to work across a number of tasks and University systems to develop a strong understanding of the multitude of behind the scenes processes that support the operation of our courses.

Our team are currently working on a hybrid rota model with full-time team members working 2 set days a week in the office and 3 days a week from home with the option to work further days on campus if the team member wishes to. During the year there are some periods where additional attendance on campus for specific activities is required of all team members as directed by the leadership team.

A student first approach is essential along with a passion for developing effective and streamlined processes that support a positive student and staff experience. Experience of working as part of team to achieve a shared goal is essential and experience of higher education and recent experience of Faculty based Academic Administration processes would be a distinct advantage. A good level of IT skill (in particular in Microsoft excel, outlook and teams) and excellent communication skills across a variety of customers, colleagues and stakeholders are key to being successful in this role.
