Role Overview

As the key contact for your learners, you’re there to act as the face of Cambridge Spark. You’ll guide, drive and ensure learners achieve their goals as per their set plan and be a part of their journey from start to finish.

Key responsibilities:

  • Motivate and encourage learning and development in your learners.
  • Drive progression and ensure OTJ and learning plan progress is delivered to plan
  • Engage with the employer and learners at a minimum ever quarter, reviewing objectives set and defining the plan
  • Recording and reporting on activity on the E-portfolio system Aptem.
  • Advise the Data Mentor when a project or assignment has been completed and is ready for their review
  • Prepare the apprentice for their Gateway
  • Embed Maths and English Functional skills into the coaching sessions.
  • Deliver and embed topics relating to Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Prevent, Equal Opportunities and other related Acts. Ensuring a regional approach and contextualisation
  • Coach apprentices in business skills and setting goals and objectives to enhance their professional skills
  • To facilitate & encourage learners to own their experience via self-directed learning and personal development.
  • Challenge and develop the learner’s skills and abilities to enable them to achieve the best performance results.
  • Be quick to problem solve and produce solutions to any learning or development barriers to apprentices.
  • Receiving and reviewing feedback from employers and/or learners.
  • Ensure best practices and be aware of Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities and related Acts

Candidate Specification:

Essential

  • Experience within Apprenticeships role for a minimum of 1 year is essential for any other relevant industry experience
  • Experience of prioritising workload, working to strict deadlines and following governing procedures and controls
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Conscientious with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure

Desirable

  • Professional Coaching qualification
  • Experience in learner/employee development
  • Relevant Technical Qualification/experience
