Final Year Student Nurse Qualifying within the next 12 months.

Are you a final year adult student nurse who will qualify in the next 12 months. Are you looking for a supportive environment in which to start your career.

We are looking for newly qualified Staff Nurses to join our professional and motivated nursing teams across all divisions at both Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital. We are extremely proud of our services and want you to be part of our future, joining our healthcare heroes at Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

Please note - this vacancy is not suitable for Overseas Registered Nurses required to take the OSCE exam.

What wards are we looking to recruit to?

We currently have a range of exciting opportunities across many of our general nursing areas including medical and surgical. We will always endeavour to offer you a role in your preferred area, so simply submit your application telling us your top three choices

You will join a busy multi-disciplinary team who are dedicated in providing individualised, evidence-based care. You will be self-driven, striving to provide a high standard of nursing care. Our ethos is ‘Compassionate Care’ to both patients and staff.
  • Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
  • Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
  • Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient
  • Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
  • Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands
  • Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures
  • Education and Training
We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, health centres and in patients’ homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.

We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children’s and young people’s services; end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.

We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.

We continue to modernise and invest in our health services to build on our strong reputation. Foundation trusts are public leaders in improving quality in health services. They are part of the NHS – yet decisions about what they do and how they do it are driven by independent boards. Boards listen to their Council of Governors and respond to the needs of their members – patients, staff and the local community.

Foundation trusts provide what the health service wants, yet are also free to invest quickly in the changes to the local community needs, in striving to be the best, and in putting their patients first.

We recognise the value that everyone brings to our profession, and we will support you as you take your first steps with us, including enrolment on a 12-month Preceptorship Programme; specifically designed to meet the development needs of newly qualified nurses which actively promotes and supports continuing professional development. Our programme includes:
