Caerphilly Children's Services have developed their Strategy aimed at reducing the numbers of Children Looked After as set out by Welsh Government. As part of this initiative, we are seeking to recruit six new permanent Senior Practitioner to each of the Locality Teams.

  • Training to promote your continued professional development.
  • An embedded risk assessment model.
  • Evidenced based and timely decision making.
  • Regular supervision, annual appraisal and opportunities for reflective practice.
  • Supportive and experienced Senior Practitioner colleagues and Team Manager.
  • Visible and strong leadership from the Senior Management Team

The Teams undertake high quality assessments and planning for children and their families who require on going social services intervention. The teams cover both short and long term work including Children in Need of Care and Support, Safeguarding, Children Looked After and court work.

We are seeking to appoint dynamic, experienced and enthusiastic practitioners to become part of our progressive and creative teams.

The successful candidate will have an enhanced level of social work skills, expertise within child protection and court work and be able to promote and develop good standards of practice both personally and within the team.

The successful candidate will hold a more complex caseload, be able to offer support, mentoring and supervision to team members, monitor team performance, assist the Team Manager and deputise when required.

The post is advertised as a Grade 10 with an additional £3,441 annual market supplement, to be paid in 12 instalments alongside the salary.
