Are you committed to the ethos of public libraries and encouraging people to get the maximum benefit from our library service and facilities?

If so, then we want you to come and join our friendly team. We need customer-focused people to help us run and develop a high-quality service at various Bristol libraries.

Bristol Libraries are looking for a professionally qualified children’s librarian to provide services to children and young people.

Key tasks include:

  • Selection and management of stock for 27 libraries across Bristol making sure to reflect the diversity of the city.
  • Promoting the service, both within the library buildings and outside via class visits etc., and liaison with key related organisations.
  • Running projects and events to increase the use of Bristol Libraries by families, children, and young people.
  • Being part of the Central Library Duty Manager rota and manage a team of Library Assistants You will make sure that the Central Library Children’s Library is a welcoming and attractive space.

You will be required to work the following pattern:

Week 1 Thurs 9.30-7 Fri 9.30-5
Week 2 Weds 9-5 Thurs 9.30-7 Fri 9.30-5
Week 3 Thurs 9.30-7 Fri 9.30-5
Week 4 Weds 9.30-5 Thurs 9.30-7 Sat 9-5
