Junior Software Engineer

Junior Software Engineer required for a manufacturer based in Ayrshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or junior levelled software engineer to join an expanding team within the engineering industry.

Junior Software Engineer Position Overview

• Programming electronic components prior to their installation on a vehicle.
• Ensuring vehicle upgrades are captured at different stages of production.
• Record keeping and software logs are up to date.
• Writing operators' manuals for different contracts.
• Investigating and troubleshooting system problems.
• Work to engineering deadlines and contribute to overall team objectives success.

Junior Software Engineer Position Requirements

• Academic background in Electrical, Automation, Control Systems, electronics, or relevant engineering discipline.
• Electrical background with a focus on controls engineering.
• Knowledge of CANbus technology.
• Knowledge of PLC Programming, Codesys is preferable (especially using ST Structured Text, FBD Functional Block Diagram and/or C++ languages).
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols e.g., Ethernet/IP, CAN2.0B, J1939, CAN open, etc.
• Strong communication skills.
• Collaborative teamwork approach -Not afraid to get your message across.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint".
• Based within a commutable distance of Ayrshire.
• A Full UK Driving Licence.

Junior Software Engineer Position Remuneration

• Salary - £20,000 to £25,000 - dependent upon experience.
• Flexible working pattern with the option of a 4-day workweek.
• Flexible holiday package (31 days - including bank holidays).
