Bella & Duke is a mission driven pet wellness company built on a foundation of high quality nutrition. Every choice we make relies on data and the insights that arise from those observations. As we grow, our small and perfect data team needs to expand by recruiting an experienced data insight analyst to join full time.

If you are passionate about data (and pets) and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment driven by mission, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

The data team is part of the IT group but operates like partisans across the business, helping to drive data insight and knowledge to create a data first culture.

What skills and experience interest us

We seek someone who has the following skills, feel free to apply even if you don’t possess all of these:

  • Highly numerate with experience of applying it in a business environment
  • Expertise in SQL and possibly Python with a minimum of 3 years experience in data analytics
  • Experience in visualisation technology - ideally Tableau (and/or Looker Studio)
  • Experience in processing, collating and visualising large amounts of data
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to explain complex analysis to non-technical colleagues clearly and with authority
  • Organised, logical problem solving skills, with a methodical approach to solving business problems using data analytics techniques
  • Highly collaborative and possessing excellent communication skills that allow you to work effectively with a range of stakeholders

How we recruit:

We are a culture orientated business so we hire on cultural fit as much as experience and skillset. We look for talent that can grow and thrive alongside us. You will probably undergo two interviews: the first to understand you as a person and the second to explore your data skills. We will provide you with some data and ask you to answer questions around it.

Who you will work with

You will be managed by the Head of Data Insight but as a part of an agile team you will find yourself working across the business including with our product manager, the CTO (who heads the whole group), the development and engineering team and the different business functions.

How you’ll work

This is a hybrid role with some days onsite at our pet-friendly office in Rosyth and some days working from your home-office. We will consider candidates based elsewhere across the UK depending on experience.

Mark and Tony founded the business to change the lives of pets. We are using our brains to follow our hearts to achieve that goal! If that sounds like you: apply now!

What you will be doing

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, working closely with them to understand business challenges
  • Create, manage and deliver tailored insight reporting to all areas of the business, including building high-profile data visualisations
  • Support Head of Data Insight by delivering deep dive analysis with accurate, insightful, actionable and timely reporting to range of stakeholders up to C-Suite level
  • Develop and model data sets for ML and programmatic actions.

What you'll bring to the role

You will...

  • Will enjoy working in a fast paced, agile team environment, who can deliver against tight and changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Will be a motivated, curious, and analytically minded person who enjoys driving positive change using data.
  • Enjoy interacting with colleagues and the hurly-burly of office life
  • Be able to manage workload and communicate the personal challenges they are facing.
  • Be able to synthesise requirements into reportable insights
  • Enjoy teaching and mentoring colleagues into the paradise of data wisdom.

What we offer you

Remuneration:

We offer competitive salary based on experience and seniority.

Culture:

We are entrepreneurial and dynamic business that is happy to break the rules. We are driven by our brand and its emphasis on connection, relationship and personal growth. We are a young workforce who share a passion for dogs and cats.
