We are currently recruiting for long term career professionals, with an initial assignment supporting the Devonport project.

Bechtel are recruiting for individuals to help deliver a critical defence infrastructure project in the Plymouth area of the UK. You will be part of a team entrusted with the success of what is a high-profile and nationally important undertaking, working in a highly collaborative partnership with our client and supply chain colleagues. Our responsibilities span engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, delivered with a focus on safety, environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and modern engineering and construction methodologies. Experience of the defence and nuclear sectors can be helpful, but we are equally interested in the ability of candidates to apply broader experiences in a new environment.

Remote working is supported for this role, although candidates must be based in the UK and can obtain security clearance due to the nature of the role. Attendance on site in Plymouth will be required for key meetings and as workload dictates. Position Summary

As a PM/APM you’ll be supporting the delivery of a variety of these engineering/Civil packages of work. Your activities will include, but won’t be limited to:

• Management and delivery of distinct tasks & activities, by coordinating sub-contractors and other trade groups.
• Assisting with the co-ordination of your project team which will include regular liaison with a broad range of stakeholders such as design engineers, commercial officers, quality assurance, operations, and maintenance.
• Supporting the planning and scheduling of project activities.
• Developing control of work information.
• Producing regular and accurate project reports & metrics.
• Managing technical documents’ including;
• Method Statements and Risk Assessments
• Scopes of Work
• Lifetime Quality Records
• Acting as a site technical representative for subcontracted works, which includes delivering site inductions and managing those visiting or working on our sites.

Role requirements

We’re looking for a well organised, proactive, and motivated team member who has strong interpersonal and effective communication skills.

Relevant Engineering discipline degree and / or be able to demonstrate relevant experience of working within the marine / engineering / construction industry.

Experience of utilising Microsoft Office applications and in handling technical documentation for engineering projects are essential for this post.

We would also like you to have (or be willing to learn) the following:

• An understanding of Project Management Tools and the Project Lifecycle.
• APM Project Management qualifications or equivalent (desirable).
