Job Introduction

Our HR Service Centre is responsible for all HR transactions, and first line advisory services.

Our first line advice services include an Immigration Team to manage all our global mobility, Immigration and compliance queries.

This role sits within the Immigration Team to manage the International assignment process life cycle from beginning to end. By providing advice on international assignments, smooth running of global mobility systems and processes, you are contributing to a smooth customer focused experience at BBC.

We are now looking for a HR Specialist – International Assignments to provide specialist advice on all issues associated with posting BBC employees on overseas assignment in a different country, on a temporary basis.

Main Responsibilities

You will advise the business on a wide variety of international assignment issues, including remuneration, assignment policy, work permit/visa, relocation and medical insurance

As such, you will:

1. Prepare cost estimates and type assignment letter which details the terms and conditions of the international assignment .

2. Provide advice on allowances and benefits available to employees on international assignments. This includes calculating and reviewing annual allowances payable and benefits provided during the assignment. This includes extensive use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Inputting payments and assignment details on the SAP HR IT systems when required.

3. Oversee the relocation process, working with outsourced providers on international removal/shipping services, visa support, payroll and tax compliance. This includes updating staff details on different databases, to ensure they are set up for medical insurance and tax services.

4. Working with different HR Teams to ensure processes and procedures are up to date in different overseas locations. Liaising closely with the Employment Tax Team with provision of information needed for overseas/UK tax return and for overseas payroll.

5. Manage social security applications to ensure UK national insurance forms are submitted to HM Revenue & Customs.

Are you the right candidate?
  • Knowledge of global mobility, international assignment life cycle process and international HR
  • Experience of working with different relocation providers on visas, shipping, accommodation and tax compliance
  • Experience of drafting and issuing international assignment HR letters
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Recent experience of managing/advising on international assignment queries
