As part of the Commercial Planning & Analysis team, this role is key to supporting the management of forecasting cycles across the UK region, providing decision support & creating value for BBC Studios by using your financial modelling, analytical & business partnering skills. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who relishes working closely with the business within a dynamic environment, shaping the future of BBC Studios.
Main Responsibilities- Support all forecast planning cycles, ensuring packs are accurate, insightful & key messages are delivered & communicated effectively
- Financial modelling & analysis to support stakeholder decision making across the region
- Strategic planning on existing & new potential business opportunities
- Build & develop effective working relationships with business leads, maintaining up to date knowledge of the divisional business & wider industry
- Collaborate closely with the various lines of business to provide deal support in the form of analysis, insights & recommendations that maximise value during negotiations with customers
- Challenge current thinking & make recommendations on how to optimise business opportunities & minimise risk/cost to the business
- Collaborate with external partners to gather data that will inform financial & operational analytics
- Interpret commercial contracts so that financial models reflect underlying commercial terms
- Develop excellent working relationships with our wider outsourced finance & group finance teams
- Support wider finance initiatives, ad hoc projects & operational improvements
- Develop, test & share new analytical methods & practices
- Excellent collaborative, interpersonal & relationship building skills
- Self-motivated, proactive & outcome focused
- Strong communication skills & can clearly communicate ideas & insights to non-finance teams
- Budgeting, forecasting & long-term financial planning in fast paced commercial organisations
- Strong experience in building & maintaining complex forecasting models
- Experience working closely with non-finance functions such as general managers, regional leadership & shared service function teams
- Ability to balance project work with BAU requirements
- Ability to apply accounting knowledge to a commercial environment
- Experience using accounting software packages; SAP/S4 desirable
- Interest in broadcasting, content distribution, media, telecommunications sectors
- Degree qualified in Finance, Business, statistics or similar discipline
- Recognised accounting qualification desirable – CIMA, ACCA etc.
