As a Barclays Scrum Master your role will be to help deliver best-in-class modern data processing platforms, working closely with delivery leads across the organization, help engineering working groups be successful and enable teams to build in-house modern data micro-services and advanced machine learning and data platform capabilities. The role will require collaboration with scrum masters, delivery leads, product owners, architects and engineers of all levels in multiple teams across the bank, as well as security and infrastructure teams.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. What will you be doing?

• Driving delivery of the design and building of in-house software, architecture and tooling for Big Data
• Enabling and coaching teams to adopt agile practices
• Driving best practices for CI/CD, testing and operability patterns across our data systems
• Communicating roadmaps and higher level project materials to other stakeholders in the bank
• Surfacing and tracking inter-team dependencies and working to reduce them where possible
• Managing external stakeholders and controling functions were required

What we’re looking for

• Scrum master with demonstrable experience of effective delivery in a technical environment
• Interest in Big Data and AI technology (e.g. the core ideas behind technologies such as Snowflake, Spark)
• Understanding of test-driven development and the value of continuous integration and continuous delivery
• Knowledge of the benefits of public cloud platforms and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Cloudformation.

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Technical (developer or sysadmin) background
• Interest in Datascience

• Scrum master, engineering

• Familiarity with ticketing system like JIRA, ServiceNow

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
