Shift: 3s & 2s shift pattern, 06:00 – 18:00

Salary: Up to £28,000 depending on experience

Location: Old Leake, Lincolnshire (near Boston)

Bakkavor is the leading provider of fresh prepared food in the UK, which is one of the most advanced, innovative and dynamic food markets in the world.

Our Meals site in Boston (Old Leake) is looking to recruit a Section Leader to manage a section of the factory, reporting into the Section Manager. The site employs over 700 people and specialises in making chilled Italian ready meals and modern deli products for a dedicated customer.

About the role

You will manage, organise and control all activities within your section of the factory. You will assign and organise staff alongside managing productivity and performance ensuring the achievement of the required service levels and performance results.

• You will walk the floor of the production area and manage start-up procedures, receiving a handover from the previous shift and ensuring there is no excess or shortage of labour in the production areas.
• Complete Return to Work interviews, attend daily review meetings and team briefings.
• Constructively challenge performance of area – quality, throughput rate and crew size.
• Effectively audit daily technical paperwork.
• Assist First Line Coordinator in DWOR completion.
• Attend daily taste panel as required and follow through any actions
• Document handover for oncoming shift and ensure production area is left in a clean and safe condition.
• Review Productivity and NME Losses Graph to identify opportunities for improvement
• Identify performance management / training requirements within the area and manage the process / delivery

You will need

• Experience in a production or section management role within the food manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement.
• A solid understanding of retailer expectations and how we meet them.
• You’ll be a great leader, capable of inspiring and engaging your team, understanding the pressure of a factory environment.

About You

In this role, you will have line management of over 20 operatives therefore previous experience as a Line Leader or similar will be beneficial. You will have experience working in a factory/manufacturing environment.
