Ashchurch:

You will primarily be working as part of a team of technicians based in Ashchurch, Gloucestershire. You will have the opportunity to visit other sites both in the UK and overseas ensuring that all antennas are structurally maintained to a high standard. Working here puts the best of the Cotswolds and Malvern Hills at your fingertips. For this role you will be based in Ashchuch, with access to work flexibly from the two different sites when practical. Normal hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times to meet the needs of the customer .

This role is within the Marine Sector of Babcock International Group, which delivers a wide array of complex through-life marine engineering services to defence and civil customers across the globe. These range from UK and international naval fleet support, commercial marine, engineering consultancy, weapons handling, equipment support, intelligence, cyber security and training.

Mission Systems forms a critical, and growing part of Babcock’s Marine organisation. Working across a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects, Mission Systems employs approximately 1,600 people across the UK and overseas with the largest sites based in Bristol, Plymouth, Portsmouth and Ashchurch.

We help customers in the UK and around the world to improve the capability, reliability and availability of their most critical assets within the four market sectors of Marine, Land, Aviation, and Nuclear, underpinned by a deep understanding of technology integration, unique infrastructure and specialist training.

Rigger Apprenticeship:
The Rigger Apprenticeship will take four years to complete, based on site whilst undertaking distance learning and on the job training (OJT) using a trade mentor. You will complete training assignments and gather competency information to meet internal and external apprentice assessments.

This programme will offer the opportunity to gain extensive experience within our on-site installation team with opportunities to gain further skills that are usually associated with the equipment.

Other training courses will be offered time permitting.

The aim of the apprenticeship scheme is to prepare you for an engineering post within the company with the opportunity to become a fully trained Rigger.
