The role

The difference our new Fire Fighter will make

As a Fire Fighter, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be a key member of the duty fire crew providing ICAO 2 crash cover for operations at RAF Wittering.

Day to day, you’ll ensure the provision of Fire & Crash Rescue and First Aid cover for Airfield Operations under the guidelines of Defence Fire & Rescue HQ (DFR HQ), Babcock and Fire Section Orders and instructions. You will be required to respond to any form of emergency or incident involving company or visiting aircraft, either actual or practice, and to carry out other tasks or duties as allocated by Line or Site Management.

Essential experience

• A valid DFR HQ approved ARFF qualification
• Current or recent experience in a military or civil operational airfield fire service
• A full and current LGV Class 2 driving licence
• Emergency Response Driver qualification
• Current Operational Breathing Apparatus Wearers Assessment Cert
• Hold or ability to gain a DFR HQ Operational Fitness Assessment Cert
