Search Engine Optimisation manager (SEO) – circa £50,000 for London
Our new Marketing Centre of Excellence (CoE) has been formed with the aim of building outstanding capabilities across key marketing subject areas, from planning through to constantly evolving digital marketing channels! It changes the emphasis of what we do from product to customer and capability, with the ambition of delivering on our One Aviva strategy. The Marketing Centre of Excellence sits alongside similar Data and Digital CoEs, supporting our Go to Market (GTM) teams as they translate business objectives into practical customer centric campaigns, communications and experiences.
The Marketing CoE is made up of 5 specialist teams - Marketing Strategy, Reporting and Planning; CRM, Content and Creative; Digital Marketing and Media; Customer Insight and Research; the team will lead on all marketing activity.
We now have a phenomenal opportunity for someone to join the Digital Marketing and Media team, as our new SEO Manager, reporting into the SEO Lead. We're searching for someone with a track record of leading multi-channel teams, who can manage partners efficiently, and who has the skills to build and scale performance content – both on-site and outreach, as well as lead on technical capabilities to drive organic growth across core product and propositions for Aviva.
A bit about the job:
You will be the main SEO contact for a range of business units, focusing on effective collaboration with key stakeholders, to deliver the group wide SEO strategy. Supporting data driven audience engagement, lead generation and conversions via insights to deliver outcomes, will all become key parts of the role – as will leading on large scale SEO program deliverables, to ensure smooth delivery of complex deployments including tooling, content, out-reach etc. You will also be responsible for building up strong working relationships with our Digital and Paid-Search teams, collaborating with them regularly to ensure an integrated search strategy is rolled out, audience segments are built, and accurate usage of new tools & capabilities.
Aviva introduced “smart-working” in 2020 and encourage flexible working; however, the successful post-holder will need to be based a commutable distance from our London offices.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
  • SEO experience is a must i.e., previous experience undertaking a SEO manager or similar level role, within an agency or from in-house capacity (or ideally both!)
  • Technical SEO experience, thanks to working within an agile team, matched with the ability to brief technical story requirements i.e., prior knowledge of utilising ranking & crawling tools
  • Large brand exposure is a must – Financial Services or another regulatory industry would be highly desirable
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to articulate to stakeholders i.e., put SEO information into layperson’s terms
  • Data driven and customer-led working style, matched with a high-performance mentality
What you’ll get for this role:
  • Annual salary of circa £50,000 (depending on skills, experience, and qualifications).
  • Generous pension (starting level Aviva contributes 8%, when you contribute 2%).
  • Eligibility for annual performance bonus.
  • Family friendly parental and carer’s leave.
  • 29 days holiday per year plus bank holidays and the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days.
  • Up to 40% discount for Aviva products.
  • Brilliant flexible benefits including electric cars.
  • Aviva Matching Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme.
  • 21 volunteering hours per year.
