Whilst powerful, impactful KPIs are hard to find, the insightful data is extremely valuable to powering our customers’ solutions and decisions. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Power BI Engineer to help us overcome the challenges inherent in delivering standout dashboards and report suites.

This is the ideal position for a data-driven, inquisitive, and investigative individual who thrives in finding pragmatic solutions.


Your role in the team…

  • Creating new or updating dashboards and interactive visual reports using Power BI…
    • This may include custom charts, calculations, and measures for any need. Usage of non-DAX languages, such as, R & Python may be needed (training provided)
    • Managing and maintaining the creation, publishing, efficiency, and security aspects of Power BI Reports during delivery
    • Modelling data within Power BI according to industry best practices
  • Creating query processes to ingest data effectively from various SQL/NoSQL data sources
  • Shaping KPIs in a manner which is easy to understand, clear to view, and effective for data-driven stories
  • Designing and developing complex calculations in DAX which are accurate and performant on datasets
  • Understanding the data flow and lifecycle for clients and articulating stages and changes in data to help BI teams
  • Analyse current ETL processes and define new target processes
  • Documentation of delivered solutions
  • Continuous learning…
    • Keeping skills up to date, including keeping abreast of the industry and working towards Certifications pertinent to the role

What we need from you…

Must-have skills and experience

  • Significant experience with Power BI and data visualisation
  • Some knowledge and experience with Azure native data services, for example, Synapse, Azure SQL, or Data factory

Desirable skills and experience

  • Strongly favouring certification
    • Understanding of IaaS, SaaS & PaaS services in the cloud
  • Other knowledge
  • Experience in working with SQL databases and data warehouses (ETL/ELT) for BI purposes.
  • Knowledge of other Power Platform tools and the Dataverse.
  • Coding - Python or equivalent programming language sufficient to enhance an existing script to ingest data from Excel into SQL Server and also Power BI
  • Experience in using SSRS for reporting and SSAS for data modeling (Tabular or Multidimensional)
  • Experience with DAX and MS SQL
  • Ways of working
    • Experience with dealing directly with stakeholders and customers
    • Agile way in working and delivering projects, with knowledge and exposure of managing project task backlog using Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar tools (Jira, Microsoft Planner)
    • Experience in gathering and refining requirements in enterprise environments.
