Digital Marketing Executive

The role sits within the UK International Card Service Acquisition and Digital Team, which has a responsibility for acquiring new cards across the proprietary portfolio (i.e. The Gold Card, The British Airways Products, etc.) and driving the digital Cardmember experience.

Card Member engagement is key in driving Amex’s billed revenue growth. The team focusses on both engaging with Amex Card Members through the app as well as Internal Acquisition, which utilises our existing customers to drive business growth, through premiumisation of existing Card Member product or adding additional supplementary cards for their friends and family.

This role will drive both billed revenue growth and card member engagement, through heading up the development and marketing of internal acquisition as well as digital capabilities.

The position is an excellent opportunity for a passionate marketer to develop their digital marketing skills and drive tangible growth for the business within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and deploying campaigns and capabilities across various channels and products to existing Card Members. We are looking for a strong collaborator, with the ability to set the agenda and drive prioritisation across teams, specifically with tech, product owners and other internal and external stakeholders, including media and creative agencies. Passion in driving digital experiences and keeping customers front and centre in terms of superior experience, communications and servicing is key for this role.


How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Deliver acquisition and Card Member engagement targets and goals
  • Leading marketing test and learn to drive internal acquisition and digital capabilities efficiency roadmap, partnering with multiple stakeholders to drive business impact
  • Focus on the customer – understand customer needs, journey, and experience
  • Enable ongoing optimisation and innovation across digital channels and campaigns, maximising efficiency, and cross-channel alignment.
  • Use data-driven insights to present campaign and channel performance to the wider team and assess business priorities, find solutions, and discover new opportunities for the business
  • Developing recommendations for how to build upon Amex’s current capabilities and assets to accelerate its journey towards best-in-class digital experience, including keeping up to date with external trends and competitors
  • Manage the administration of campaign budgets, including raising requisitions, processing invoices, vendor liaison and deployment of marketing communications
  • Building strong relationships with the product, channel, marketing, personalisation and servicing teams to drive through plans and strategy

The successful candidate will be highly professional and personable, with a proactive attitude. The candidate will need to be organised to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines, prioritising effectively. It is essential that the candidate is a team player and can collaborate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders, as well as able to drive projects independently. Key requirements include:

  • A Marketer with solid experience and ability to drive business results
  • A passion for marketing and digital innovation, with the ability to demonstrate understanding of marketing principles to meet customer needs
  • In depth understanding of acquisition channels and an eye for creative development
  • Strong ability to communicate, influence and present to relevant stakeholders
  • Ability to take a lead, show initiative and operate without detailed oversight
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify key success drivers for campaigns and tests
