An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Finance Operations team for an Accounts Assistant. This role will give you real world experience within an accounts team as well as the opportunity to improve your technical and business skills within the insurance industry. This is a permanent position working within the Cashiers team providing support to teams both in the UK and India.
We are looking for someone motivated to grow and develop their career in Finance & Accounts and also potentially qualify in an Accountancy qualification – and we offer financial study support to enable you to do this.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with reconciliations of the bank and control accounts and systems, correcting any issues arising, to mitigate the risk of any financial misstatements or operational losses.
- Assist with the delivery of the daily, monthly and quarterly tasks set by internal business customers to agreed deadlines and standards.
- Build relationships with both internal & external customers, projecting a positive image of the department.
- Develop understanding of the business systems used within the company which impact on the areas you are responsible for.
- Identify issues with systems and processes, deliver improvements and implement changes successfully
Skills & Experience
- Already have experience working within the Finance/Accounts arena
- An understanding of bank reconciliations
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office packages
- GSCE Maths & English Grade C as a minimum (or equivalent) required
- Good at problem solving
- Reliable and consistent
- Attention to detail
- Able to communicate at all levels
- Ability to multitask and set priorities
- Willingness to challenge existing practices
