Internship Overview
We are looking for interns to join us for our 2023Summer Internship Program! Position Overview
The Software Engineering Internwill be part of a fast-paced engineering team responsible for the learning and implementation of Actian Data platform services in our data integration portfolio. You will work collaboratively with a cross-functional agile team or buddy to design and implement the platform APIs for new or enhanced features and those features will be implemented iteratively.
Responsibilities:
- Database hands-on knowledge with concepts of normalization, performance tuning, query optimization with SQL/MYSQL, PL/SQL or with structured or non-structured databases
- Familiarity with data visualization tools including Tableau, Click View, Power BI, Looker
- Knowledge of API management i.e., Rest API, Micro Services and multiple data source systems like SAP, Oracle, SQL Server, JDBC/ODBC Applications
- Set up a system to ingest, clean, prepare, quality assure, update and refresh data from a wide range of sources for use in research, ensuring reusable processes and checks. Should be able to Prepare the BI Reports with minimum effort based on the data prepared and present findings to Company through a Capstone Presentation
Nice to haves:
- Basic Knowledge of JSON, XML, Java Script/VB Scripts
- Experience in programming languages i.e., Java, Python, R, Scala, .Net.
- Knowledge on basic Cloud technologies and concepts i.e. AWS, Google, MS Azure
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in technical or business discipline; currently pursuing postgraduate degree
- Must be legally authorized to work in the UK

- Weekly Events— just because the internship is remote, doesn’t mean we don’t have time for fun! Last summer, we hosted an Actian tie-dye shirt event, tiny camp fire—complete with smores(!!!), a murder mystery party, and so much more
- Time with Executives— Interns all get a chance to connect with our executive team through panel discussions, 1:1s, Q&A meetings, and events
- Workshops & Tech Tuesday’s— Interns all participate in Tech Tuesday’s where they get to learn more about Actian specific technologies, as well as workshops geared towards new professionals
- Opportunity to travel – we will be hosting a hybrid orientation! For those that are comfortable with being in person for orientation, we will fly you to our Austin, TX office.
