Our client is a world leading company based in Cambridge that owns £3 billion worth of assets which is built up of commercial and heritage estates across the region. You will play a key leadership role within the Building Management Systems (BMS) team that delivers building maintenance work to automated systems including HVAC, PLCs, critical alarm systems, electrical maintenance and wet and steam systems across the business.

You will have previous leadership experience whilst providing technical and hands on support to the electrical and mechanical teams. You will be at the forefront of making sure that all sites are fully operational and providing support with the maintenance and fault finding of any on site electrical or mechanical systems.

What’s involved for the Lead Project Engineer:-

• Manage the building services team including 121’s, annual reviews, recruitment and training.
• Manage the planned and reactive maintenance work load across all sites.
• Promote H&S across the department.
• Highlight areas of departmental improvements.
• Ensure timely testing and fault finding of control panels on BMS control systems and control devices.
• Ensure team maintain a strong technical understanding to third party systems and HVAC, plant and applications.
• Carry out regular site inspections.
• Ensure that contractors are informed about technical developments in BMS.
• Liaise with electrical and mechanical engineers to provide support and assistance when required.
• Understand CDM regulations.
• Ensure all inspections , action tests and reports relating to compliance are carried out with the relevant certificates.
• Liaise with other departments to carry out work as and when required.

What you’ll need:-

• Experience in building management systems / services, facilities management, building services engineer or hard services management
• Management or leadership experience
• Electrical qualification relevant to building services
• IOSH or equivalent ideal but not essential
• Good communication and written skills
• Experience of managing complex projects
• Effective decision making skills
